This was probably our favorite leg of the vacation. We took a Ferry from Cape Cod to Martha's Vineyard and then traveled on to Newport, R.I. where we stayed at a lovely Bed and Breakfast for two nights.

| On the ferry out to Martha's Vineyard from Cape Cod. |
.JPG) |
| We pass by the most picturesque scenes |
.JPG) |
| Like this bay and lighthouse |
.JPG) |
| Once on the island we explored two of the five major cities (which are all quite small) |
.JPG) |
| By far, Oak Bluffs was our favorite town. |
.JPG) |
| There are tons of these little beach houses, most are vacation homes. |
.JPG) |
| And the famous Seaview Park lined with perfect little houses |
.JPG) |
| Mohammad wanted to attend the camp meeting |
.JPG) |
| We found the cutest house |
.JPG) |
| We decided if we were to buy one of the houses, it would be this big private residence with the red roof! |
.JPG) |
Absolutely worth a weekend stay next time. Martha's Vineyard is so relaxing and the weather was perfect! |
.JPG) |
| In Newport (my favorite city of the trip) we stayed at The Almondy Inn |
.JPG) |
| We had the cutest little room! |
.JPG) |
| When in Newport, you must check out the mansions! |
.JPG) |
| The Breakers was by far the nicest of the three we visited. |
.JPG) |
The Breakers is a Vanderbilt Mansion constructed in 1893. The 70 room house was used by the Vanderbilt family as their summer cottage. |
.JPG) |
| The next mansion we visited was Rosecliff. |
.JPG) |
| If you can't tell how big these houses are, just look at that coach light! It is as tall as I am! |
.JPG) |
| Rosecliff was built in 1899 and it's main purpose was for hosting parties. |
.JPG) |
| The grand lawn and ocean view is visible from the main ballroom |
.JPG) |
| You can see The Breakers from Rosecliff (as well as several other private residence mansions). |
.JPG) |
| My favorite of the three was Marble House |
.JPG) |
| Mrs. Vanderbilt used the tea house you see to the right of Mohammad to host rallies for the women's right to vote. |
.JPG) |
Marble House was built by Mrs. Vanderbilt in 1888 as her private summer cottage. There is more than 500,000 cubic feet of marble inside the Marble House. |
.JPG) |
| The views are amazing! Inside the house, there is even a room with walls plated in platinum! |
.JPG) |
| A short drive from our B&B is this lovely beach on the harbor. |
.JPG) |
| Rhode Island is such a beautiful state. |
.JPG) |
| The city seen here behind the harbor is so very quaint. |
.JPG) |
| It looks so much like an England country side! |
.JPG) |
One stop along the scenic Ocean Drive. The tide is said to rise an fall almost 12 feet every 6 hours. |
.JPG) |
| The famous cliff walk was a bit ruined by the recent hurricane, but they are rebuilding. |
.JPG) |
| Just look how cute the city is! |
.JPG) |
| Our B&B. I definitely recommend staying here. It is just off of the town's main street. |
.JPG) |
| And a short walk from the harbor. |
.JPG) |
| Where's the Ferry? |
.JPG) |
| They have the cutest little churches that just pop up everywhere. |
.JPG) |
| And so many parks! |
.JPG) |
| Of course, we had to stop for ice cream. |
